Mediation

“A resolution to a dispute that the parties come to on their own is most often a better outcome for all involved than what they would get from a judge, jury or arbitrator.”

This principle is what guides the trained mediators at Parker Harvey. Facilitative mediation has been described as sitting around a campfire, holding hands and singing Kumbaya. Nothing could be further from the truth. Today’s mediators are highly trained in both the art and psychology of negotiations. Today’s mediation process involves exploring the roots of a dispute and the parties’ interests so that a workable solution can be discovered and employed. Each Parker Harvey mediator has passed a 40-hour training program and keeps their certification current with 8 hours of training every two years. They are licensed and certified to mediate domestic and civil disputes in Michigan circuit, district and probate courts. However, mediation works just as well, if not even better, in resolving disputes that have not escalated to litigation.

With over 1,500 mediations under our belt, Parker Harvey mediators can assist you in resolving disputes with employees, distributors, suppliers, customers, anywhere a dispute can arise. Mediating a dispute before litigation is filed can mean significant cost savings and, in many instances, can salvage a relationship. If you have a issue that you think the mediators at Parker Harvey might be able to help you with, give us a call and we would be glad to talk about how we can help.
